My time at the hotel was wonderful and it's sad it's come to an end. It's a great location to explore other parts of the lake, and MayaMoon itself is simply a beautiful place. During high season, the work can be busy, but I really enjoy meeting different people from all over the world, and you still have time to do activities you want - swimming, paddle boarding, hiking, etc. I also appreciate the sleeping arrangements as it's nice to have your own space and not just bunk beds. Thanks for everything Fe and the MayaMoon Crew, I will miss you all. ✨

MayaMoon is an amazing place. Fe & the managers da really good job. The treat you as part of the team and not as a volunteer. In high season it can be really busy but there is always somebody to help you out. The hours are perfect, you have enough time to explore the lake or enjoy the dock. 🌞 2 months seems a long time, but time flies! ¡Hasta Luego! 🌙

The hotel took my heart day one. I really felt like I hit the jackpot of hosts when I arrived at the hotel. Amazing owners and amazing kitchen staff who are helpful, fun and supportive. The tasks are very fair and easy enough to breeze through the two month contract that when it's done, you will feel like where did the time go. The location of the hotel is perfect to go to all the popular tourist spots as well as untapped places worth visiting. The food was phenomenal the sleeping arrangements is incredible and afforded my own own space. Highly recommend. Message me for more details.

The hotel quickly became a home away from home. The location is absolutely beautiful and the work is very fair, leaving a lot of time for yoga, reading, swimming, hiking, paddle boarding, and exploring the lake. The volunteer room is cozy and has a lot of space to settle in. The food is healthy and fresh and 2 meals are provided on days that you work. There is a 2 month commitment, but the time truly flew by and I couldn't believe it was already time to leave. I had such a chilled and relaxing time at the lodge and I cant wait to return!

The hotel was everything I could have hoped for in a Workaway experience and more - my favorite spot around the lake. The accommodation was great, with a beautiful view of the surroundings (and the unreal sunrises). The work was well-organized, and what truly made my time special were all the people who made every moment enjoyable :) I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something truly unique!

The hotel was my first world packers experience and it was truly one of the most magical times of my life. Working here I got to meet people that lived on the lake which made it easier to connect and form friends in the area. The work was simple and fun and the location made it easy to do stuff in the near by towns. I highly recommend volunteering here. My time at the hotel will never be forgotten and I am positive that I will be back here one day.

The work is very easy, the food is delicious, everyone was super nice, it can be very relaxing to just swim, read, and tan on the deck. There is a 2 month minimum to be here. This is a very touristy place which I wasn't a fan of. You speak to the women cooking in Spanish but with everyone else it's in English. I had to leave early due to family reasons at home. My experience was just OK but you could absolutely love it like the other girls that were volunteering. This could be a hit or miss based on who you are and what you like.

Kaliah showed little interest and left early, citing family issues—then traveled to Antigua. Her abrupt exit disrupted our team after we invested time training her. Her review was inaccurate. Maya Moon is tourist-focused but offers authentic hospitality and community. She made little effort to engage. Our team speaks Spanish and hosts Spanish speakers.

The hotel was an absolute dream!! If you are looking for a place to volunteer that is serene, beautiful, full of nature and life, where the work is fair and enjoyable, you are secluded in nature but still close to tons of events and social opportunities, and the people are incredible-- the hotel is definitely the place for you. Fee is such a kind soul and the other volunteers made the experience so memorable. This is by far one of the best volunteering experiences I've had, I would LOVE to come back one day. Nothing beats sun-bathing and swimming on the dock :) Thank you so much for everything

The hotel was the most incredible volunteer experience I've had so far! Everything was perfect. Volunteer accommodation was the best, there's plenty of room to settle in and make the space your own. Fe and Chris are such helpful, attentive and kind people. The work is extremely straightforward and the hours are always clear and respected. The food was also wonderful and it was great to get to know the kitchen staff! I absolutely cannot wait to go back and spend more time at this amazing hidden gem! Anyone who volunteers here will have a great time. I miss it so much already!
