Programmdetails
Our goal is to gather, hunt, fish and make most of the food we eat ourselves. We use our dogs for private purposes to hunt and for recreation. Because it's hard to grow everything we need and we also have to take part in the modern world. We have a barn with more sheep than we need for ourselves so we can also sell meat.
And we drive tourists with the dogs in the winter time to support the dogs and pay our bills.
We try to take the children with us as much as possible to teach them about nature, animals and skills needed to survive in the arctic. To preserve our culture and pass on the way we live to future generations.
We also try to share our traditions and history with our guests and helpers. In our family we take care of each other and the people that live with us become a part of our family.
Aktivitäten & Schichten
We are looking for volunteers who would like to learn more about dogs and how our life on the farm is. Also have to be able to work independently and in teams.
Living and working on a farm is never boring. The work varies a lot, because it depends on the weather, the season and the animals. Working with animals can be a bit unpredictable. Suddenly something happens that needs to be done right away and sometimes we can plan the work better. :)
All people are expected to help out with daily family chores, such as keeping the house tidy and cleaning up after themselves. If animals are loose or suddenly in places they should not be, help to get them back where they belong. We also encourage volunteers to take an active part in family activities, and daily life to get the most out of the stay here.
Regeln
We only want reliable and responsible people. You also have to be able to work alone and have a passion for animals and outdoors life.
Responsible and good with animals and people. Because we have children we have to be able to trust the people who live here to be responsible and behave properly. The persons who volunteer and live here are a part of the family and live close to the family.
