I had a wonderful stay at the hostel. The tasks were easy and fun. The 6h-shifts can seem quite long, but because it was no hard work it was totally fine. The owner Chris is a super chill, kind and patient person and moreover a great listener ;)On the days off I could easily explore other parts of the island. What I liked most about the volunteering were all the beautiful people I met. Guests. The cleaning/kitchen stuff, with whom I could practice my spanish. Other volunteers. But especially Chris and Maite. They made this into a second home and I'll miss them. Thank you guys for everything

Tuve una buena experiencia en general. Practiqué el idioma inglés y me ayudaron cuando me faltó vocabulario y modos de expresión. Las chicas voluntarias y encargadas Excelentes! buenas compañeras, comunicativas y divertidas! La habitación es en literas con ventilador y se comparte con huéspedes. Conocí un montón de Santo Domingo y su cultura. La gente que trabaja en la cocina son buenos anfitriones en ese sentido. Las tareas de recepción y bar son llevaderas, te enseñan y explican claramente, siempre hay alguien para eso y el sistema que utilizan está muy bueno.

I wasn't given the opportunity to volunteer as the host wasn't there when he arrived I was asked to leave being accused of screaming when that was the other volunteer I asked him to check his cameras, I was told it didn't matter he didn't feel I'll be a good fit. I believe the outcome would have been different had the host been present upon arrival!
