The hostel itself made us feel at home due to the facilities and comfort offered. The work is easy and simple with a schedule that allows you to see all the characteristic points of the island of Lewis and Harris. No words to describe our hostess who at all times was kind, helpful, attentive and friendly, exceeding our expectations. In addition, your whole family is involved with the Hostel, making the experience even better. The period we were at the Hostel made it possible to improve our English language and provided unforgettable contacts with people from different parts of the world.

Eu não saberia nem por onde começar a falar dessa experiência. desde o início sempre foi a anfitriã com mais disponibilidade ( mesmo não tendo muito tempo para isso) e atenciosa que eu tive em minha experiência de viagem. eu não queria vir embora, mas precisei voltar para o Brasil antes do tempo. não vejo a hora de voltar lá e rever todos os amigos que fiz, aproveitar para fazer novas coisas, novas amizades, agora que já tenho uma noção de como é fazer voluntáriado e como funciona um hostel. eu fiz amigos para a vida toda, principalmente a dona do hostel, Cristine, e seu pai, Tosh.

I can't say enough good things about volunteering at the hostel! Christine and her family are the nicest people I've ever met , they all made sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. I was able to stay in their dorms, bell tent, and their tree house which is just so cool. You get to meet a lot of the locals and also so many people from all over the world it's exactly what I was looking for! Stornoway is a beautiful little town and you have plenty of time to explore Lewis and Harris which is amazing! I will definitely be coming back and would totally recommend it to others

This was my first volunteering experience and it was absolutely fabulous! Christine and her family were so welcoming and kind and always made sure I felt like I was at home. I slept in an amazing treehouse and bell tent (got the option as well to sleep in a dorm) which was an amazing experience. The work was easy and good and definitely would recommend to others!!

I have no words to describe this Amazing experience in Stornoway/ Scotland. Since I arrive Christine made me feel as home and very very welcome, the team was very cozy cuZ the family environmental in the hostel; you will feel as home (like me) with a wonderful treat! Knowing the family is the best immersion in the local culture, I'm so grateful with the life cuz I had this experience.

My second destination in Scotland. I truly had a great time here in Stornoway. I met many wonderful volunteers and guests during my stay. The hostel is family-run. Christine was very kind and loving, always looking after us to make sure everyone is happy. Her family were all very friendly and warm. Work was simple and fair and I really enjoyed it! The island has many beaches and I really enjoyed camping and sightseeing. I was also lucky to see one of the best traditional Scottish music festival! I had one of the best memories in this island and will definitely come back for a visit one day!

Fellow travellers, I can without a doubt recommend you guys this Hostel. Christine, the host, was so kind and welcoming. I never felt unsafe,unwelcome or disrespected. The staff room I stayed in was beautiful and cozy. The hostel & the facilities were very nice, complete & clean. The landscapes and outdoors of the island are so grand, untouched, well-preserved. The city itself is small & charming. I really enjoyed meeting the other volunteers & the guests that came and went: a lot of hikers/cyclists/campers... some really interesting, open-minded & friendly folk. Thanks again Christine! xo

Best experience ever! Christine and her family are lovely! Always trying to make you feel at home and making plans with the staf like fishing or dinners.The staf is amazing and you really make good friends. It's like a big family. Always meeting nice people in the hostel, to go out or have a good conversation. Easy work and enought time to explore the island. It's a good oportunity to improve english. I really hope to return as soon as posible.
