When I started this adventure, I was going through a very difficult moment in my life. Coming to Nova Scotia gave me hope again. AMAZING WORLDPACKERS EXPERIENCE!!! I feel super lucky to have had the chance to come here and it felt like I found a second home for the month. The arrangement is really well done — the work is very reasonable, rooms are great, food is great, and the hosts took us out to killer local spots and events. ALSO IT'S SO FUN TRUST ME. The hostel was amazing to explore stunning beaches and hikes luckily the ban ended while Maddie and myself were there to see it all! The family were so welcoming immersing me in the local culture. Perfect if you're up for non stop action and adventure with a Canadian family and the lovely guests!

The hostel where do I even start!!! This has been the most fulfilling and entertaining trip of my life. The family that runs it is comprised of the most generous, kind, inviting hosts ever and their super sweet and intelligent children! If you chose to volunteer here you will never have a boring day. The hostel is perfect for anyone who loves hikes, beaches, music, playing cards or getting beat at board games by a kid!! I stayed 5 weeks and if I had the choice I would've stayed way longer. They are the most wonderful hosts you could ever hope to find. They thoughtfully prepare every detail so you can have a perfect experience in Cape Breton: a cozy cabin for Worldpackers, delicious meals and daily adventures through beaches and trails. But above all, is the friendship, the warmth and the love you feel from the moment you arrive. And leaving this place is the hardest part. A TRUE CANADIAN HOSTEL!! SURROUNDED BY BEAUTIFUL CAPE BRETON the hostel, LOTS OF TRAILS, BEACHES AND MOUNTAINS. I HAD A WONDERFUL, VERY FUN TIME AT THE VERY COZY HOSTEL WITH A VERY WELCOMING, KIND, AWESOME FAMILY, NICE GUESTS, AND FUN LOCALS. SIX WEEKS FLEW SUPER FAST! I ENJOYED HIKING, SNOWSHOEING, AND SHOOTING DARTS. IT MUST HAVE BEEN QUITE DIFFERENT IN THE SUMMERTIME, BUT I DID SWIM IN ICE-COLD WATER AND I BELIEVE I ENJOYED THE WINTER CAPE BRETON TO THE FULLEST! THE AMOUNT OF WORK CHANGES DAY BY DAY, BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE SOME TIME TO EXPLORE AND MAYBE SPOT SOME MOOSE! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Wow what a whirlwind of an experience! I came to the hostel with intentions of staying for the one month of July. I loved my time there so much that I ended up staying for seven months! Summer to Winter. I got to witness the warmth and love that each family member provides in their own special way. As well as from the amazing locals, guests and crew. If you are looking for a unique hostel environment situated in an even more unique natural wonder, then this is the place for you. You never know what you might find in the magical the hostel… I'm lucky enough to say that I found love.
