I volunteered at this hostel in Marrakesh and had a positive experience. The manager is honest, very respectful, and takes good care of the volunteers, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore Marrakesh and experience the local culture. About the tasks, it's important to be willing to learn, help, and actually work, cause it requires commitment. The hostel offers an enriching exchange, and I recommend this experience for those who are open to actively contributing and adapting to the rhythm of the place.

I stayed for three weeks and wish I could have spent more time! Faical was very welcoming and provided us information on the local customs, things to do and a weekly allowance for breakfast. The work was easygoing (general housekeeping and cleaning tasks), and usually consisted of an hour cleaning in the morning and a few hours at reception in the afternoon. The hostel is in a great location, a short walk to anything you need, and the sunset view from the rooftop was stunning. Faical was a great host, who cares for the volunteers, guests and their experience. Thanks for a lovely stay! :)

This experience wasn't what I expected, from the beginning, I didn't feel comfortable. One point was that when I had the interview they never told me that when I arrived I needed to sign a contract and it was a surprise for me; then we had other things and I talked to Faisal and We came to the same conclusion, that he wasn't comfortable with me tand that's why I left earlier, but in terms of schedule they do stick to what they tell you. They're in a good location, and the breakfast they offer is at a very good restaurant. But even though things happend I'm grateful with them for everything.

We really did not want to write you a bad review to not hurt your profile and not affect other hosts opinion about you. Jimena arrived with a very passive attitude, she was closed minded, always in her own bubble, she did not want to interact with guests or other staff. She would count every extra minute she works. She was always either on her phone or computer. She did not bring a positive energy to the place. From the begining, we felt she was not intending to finish her volunteering with us.

I quite enjoyed my time in the hostel. The work was quite easy, and the place was quite comfortable to stay in, close to the main attractions and it's inside the medina as well. Faical was quite helpful, and the tasks were quite clear and straightforward to navigate. He also provided us with free breakfast vouchers which was really nice of him to do that. I felt like that I didn't quite get the full experience of doing reception work since there weren't many guests while I was there which was understandable, given that the hostel just opened up at that time.

El hostel cuenta con una excelente ubicación, se encuentra cerca de atracciones turisticas como la Medina y el zoco, también tiene unas vistas maravillosas y las camas son super confortables. En mi estadía no hubo mucho flujo de huespedes lo que hacía que mis horas fueran estando en la recepción ante cualquier eventualidad pero sin mucho por hacer.. pero en los días que hubieron grandes grupos, pude conocer a una persona increíble que cocinaba para ellos (: Estuve sola como voluntaria la gran mayoría del tiempo. Cualquier duda que tenga algún/a viajero/a, feliz de comentarla

I can notice from your review that you had a great time and enjoyed volunteering with us. Nonetheless, you should know that a rating of 3 is considered negative for WP so this might impact us and probably make us leave WP and not offer similar volunteering opportunities for travelers seeking to discover our beautiful country. Consider these points and never compare hostels in different countries or even continents. Just think about the experience you had in general.

The host Faical is a very respectful, responsible and caring person. He was making sure that I was feeling welcomed at any time. The work was a lot but he told me that beforehand. I can recommend this place if you want to explore Marrakesh and get the feeling of living and working in this city. The hostel is very nice and the host is very friendly.

En primera instancia todo fue bien, Faisal fue respetuoso y cumplía con lo señalado, el problema es cuando hay reservas de grupos grandes, en base a mi experiencia no hace una buena organización de los cuartos y puede que te toque dormir en recepción (un lugar abierto en donde pasan huéspedes y con cámaras ) , .. Faisal no acepta críticas constructivas, le sugeri que podría hacer una mejor gestión con los cuartos para que en un futuro no tuviera problemas con voluntarios lo que conllevó a que el pusiera fin a mi voluntariado 12 días antes de lo acordado.

In my case, I decided to extend my stay because, at first, I really enjoyed the experience as a volunteer. However, when groups started arriving, the atmosphere changed, and the work became more demanding, which made me feel uncomfortable and exhausted. The lack of communication and some misunderstandings also affected my experience. Finally, in agreement with Faical, I decided to end my stay earlier than planned, as my energy and motivation had changed considerably. I would have liked to share more, but we didn't quite connect. Either way, I'm grateful for the experience. :)

I spent 2 meaningful weeks in the hostel. I work 5 hours per day, normally 1 hours cleaning in the morning and 4 hour reception. The distribution of the time depends on days. The hostel is a nice environment, there is no other staff and less than 8 guests when I stayed there. Faical provided me 35 dirham per week for breakfast, plus I can use the kitchen and some food in the fridge. The hostel is at the prime location of the hostel tourism centre. Near bahia palace.

My time at the hostel was really good. The environment is super chill and familiar. My stay was during the begining of the season, so there were not many guests but to me that was something ok, because I could enjoy times of calmness. The hostel is super well located, the rooms are good and Faical is really nice and respectfull. I felt welcomed like I was home. The tasks were simple and the hours were followed, just be aware that the schedule is split during the day, so a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. My favorite time of the day was sunset at the rooftop. It's precious!
