I came to Gijón not knowing exactly what to expect. At first, I was a little bit nervous, but everything fell into place and this turned out to be a great experience. I'm writing this review from the bus station as I'm about to leave, and I wish I could stay longer. Mareike (manager) really cares about the volunteers, Ivan (handy man) is always there to lend a hand and have fun with us, and the volunteers (and Tete).... Man, they became friends in such a short time, I feel sad leaving. Schedule: respected Location: easy bike ride into town Room: in hostel, shared w ~7 volunteers Gracias!!

This was my first World Packers trip and I was blown away! I got to meet so many amazing people and create life long memories. I came with the purpose to learn more Spanish and I was able to practice everyday and learn so much. The Hostel is very clean and the hostel is a very special city. I was able to improve my surfing and also got to explore the city with the hostel bikes. I worked as the handy man and got to paint a lot of the house with Ivan. Mareike was an amazing host that made me feel at home since day 1 of being there and overall I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and I genuinely had the time of my life. I immediately felt at home here. The other volunteers and guests I met were incredibly kind and genuine. I had so much fun working on social media, and I would strongly recommend this opportunity to anyone in marketing who's looking to take a career break or travel. It's also an amazing place to learn Spanish and try surfing! I can't say enough good things about the Gijón the hostel. ¡Muchas gracias por invitarme!

Fue mi primera experiencia en WP y sin duda no pudo ser mejor. Conocí personas maravillosas, pude surfear, recorrer la ciudad en bici y hacer actividades increíbles en mi tiempo libre. Los horarios están siempre claros y se respetan, el sitio es muy lindo y siempre te vas a sentir como en casa🫶🏻 una experiencia inolvidable que recomiendo 100%

Fue una experiencia taaaan especial y hermosa para mí que no tengo palabras ✨ me sentí en casa y en familia desde el primer momento, conocí gente hermosa aquí, aprendí a surfear que era como un sueño para mí , los turnos son rotativos lo que te permite tener tiempo para ir al mar , conocer , hacer actividades con los otros compañeros! Las camas son cómodas y el lugar muy limpio y nice! Los martes hay pizza night y andar en bici por toda la ciudad fue de lo mejor ✨ Gracias por todooooo ,

El Hostel fue como un segundo hogar, las personas que conocí ahí me enseñaron muchísimo y sobre todo conecté enormemente con ellos, le guardo un gran cariño al lugar 🫶🏼 las tareas en el hostel se respetan, hay buena convivencia y dentro de todo lo establecido dan libertad creativa, lo recomiendo mucho 💖

My stay in GSH was great, the hostel is an amazing city, the hostel is a big house, with everything you need, it's easy to feel at home, i was there during the low season, so it was a bit more chill, the work was very easy, there are a lot of activities to do with the other volunteers and the guests, like surfing, biking, doing sports or going out to party, a had a lot of fun, and i truly recommend

This experience was one of the best because you are located a little outside the city, yet you are right next to the boardwalk. With the bikes provided, you can take them into the city or if you want to be more secluded, just go the other direction. I met amazing volunteers and locals as well. Loved this experience and highly recommend!

La experiencia como voluntariada en este Hostel fue excelente. No tengo quejas solo agradecimientos infinitos. Las tareas quedan claras del día uno, cada uno sabe que es lo que tiene que hacer y esa confianza la gestiona muy bien la manager Mareike, que sin dudas es una increíble persona te hace sentir en casa. Excelente la limpieza, la organización general y sobre todo muy buena comunicación. Repetiría esta experiencia en otro momento, me voy con el corazón lleno de alegría y de mágicos momentos. Mil gracias el hostel son un gran equipo.🤍🤍

The hostel was my first volunteering experience and I wouldn't have asked for anything more! The hosts were super welcoming and created fantastic vibes. The overall vibe of the whole hostel was just like one big family (with guests, volunteers and management). Being the low season tasks were simple, with different tasks to help get the hostel ready for the high season. I have created memories at this place that will stay with me for a lifetime.
