You may be asked to take lessons in English, maths or science, but don't worry if you feel your strengths lie outside these areas - the children you teach will benefit from your enthusiasm and your ability to construct sentences in English. Games and sports are another important part of school life, so please be prepared to get involved with these as well.

Programmdetails

Volunteers are generally expected to work at their placement five days a week. Weekday mornings will start with breakfast with other volunteers at our volunteer house, with school starting at around 9am. Mornings are usually devoted to traditional school subjects, usually broken into classes of one hour each. At around 12pm you’ll get a break for lunch, which you can take with other volunteers and local staff. In the afternoons you’ll be taking additional classes but there is often time for games and sports and it will be your job to help run these.

Improve the English levels of the students through fun and interactive lessons
Assist with extracurricular activities such as sport, music, and art class
Help provide teachers with extra classroom support
Improve the safety and cleanliness of the learning environment
