Volunteering at the hostel was a really special experience for me. It's a family-run hostel, and from the first day they truly made me feel at home. The vibe is very relaxed, chill, and local, more than a typical hostel. With guests from Spanish-speaking countries as well as Canada and the USA, I was naturally encouraged to learn and practice Spanish every day. The location is great — about a 20-minute walk to the beach along the river, and the bus station is very close. Being there over the holidays was extra special thanks to a family-style dinner organized by the owners.

Très bonne expérience de volontariat. J'ai été très bien accueillie par Orky et Juan, qui m'ont clairement présenté les missions à réaliser. Les horaires ont toujours été respectés. J'étais en dortoir avec les autres volontaires, avec accès au petit-déjeuner. L'hôtel est très agréable, très beau, et l'endroit est calme et paisible et l'ambiance est familiale. Je recommande vivement.

As this was my 9th volunteer experience, it felt a bit limited for more experienced volunteers, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. The owners are a very sweet older couple, the environment is super calm with an older crowd (around 50s–60s), and the work is clearly structured. Shifts are 5 hours a day, 5 days a week (2.5 hours cleaning + 2.5 hours front desk), with free breakfast. The main drawback is that although the position says English “or” Spanish, all training and main management/leadership communication was in Spanish, which made learning tasks and procedures a bit more challenging.

Encontrarme con la familia de the hostel fue una gran experiencia de la que siempre me acordaré. Gracias por todo y seguramente, voy a regresar. I got to learn a lot about the local culture and was lucky enough to be there during El Día de la Independencia- celebrating with the hosts was one of my favourite evenings in all of my stay. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to practice their Spanish all the while meeting welcoming people!

Volunteering at the hostel was a really good first experience! The working hours were agreed upon first and the tasks were really easy. The host and family were welcoming and friendly, there was a great atmosphere!! The place is really nice and well organized. The only drawback I can think of is the lack of other volunteers (at least in my experience) which made the experience a bit lonelier! Based on the time of the year there could be less tourists, so it can be less work to do but also harder to find and meet new people!

The hostel was great, it was my first volunteering experience. I felt very safe in Puerto Vallarta and met the best people. They were very patient with me as I do not speak spanish. The tasks are easy and the days are lovely! It honestly felt like a fever dream the experience was amazing!

I helped the breakfast and front desk. During my stay, I had the opportunity to speak both English and Spanish with about half of the customers being Mexican and the other half from the U.S., Canada, and other countries. The tasks were really easy.

I wish I could recommend this place but I can't. If you want a calm, collaborative and fun environment to volunteer in. Do not come here. I came here during slow season, living accommodation was terrible. They put us in the hottest room in the hostel with no ventilation and no fan. It was so hot and humid in the room that my back pack molded over twice. Working with the manager was very taxing and honestly dangerous. She will blame you for the things she does not get done on her shift or other people's shift even though they have cameras to verify. Ultimately it became unsafe and I had to go.

El hostel fue un gran lugar para llevar a cabo mi primera experiencia de voluntariado. Me sentí respetado y como en familia. Las tareas y horas fueron las acordadas y se respetaban los horarios. A doña Orquí, Don Juan y Esme gracias por su apoyo y su amabilidad, me hicieron sentir en casa. Me llevo grandes y lindos recuerdos de este lugar que además me permitió socializar con otros huéspedes muy buena onda como Vicente y otros miembros de la familia que venían a visitar o vivían allí. Esta experiencia demás me permitió gozarme de Puerto Vallarta de una manera espectacular. GRACIAS!!!
