Programmdetails

Our volunteer program is currently 28 hours a week in exchange for accommodation, unlimited basic food (rice, pasta, beans, lentils, oats, and pancake flour), fresh fruit, and discounts at our bar. 🍔🌮🍻

Most volunteers would do three 8-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift per week. Due to the fact that there is only one bar shift a day (so 7 a week), our bartenders will cycle between one 3-shift week (24hours) and one 4-shift week (32hours) in order to average out a 28-hour week.

Shifts are assigned and published every Sunday for the next week. In order to maintain good communication, we have a mandatory staff meeting every Monday to discuss any changes and anything the team has excelled at or might have to work on.

This a volunteer position, but extra income can be made from tips and extra shifts when available.

Aktivitäten & Schichten

Shift schedule is from 6pm to 2am.

During your shift, you should:
- Prepare cocktails
- Keep the bar area clean
- Wash and dry glassware
- Talk with clients

At a minimum, you should know these:
Mojito
Caipiroska
Tequila Sunrise
Paloma
Piña Colada
Margarita
Cuba Libre
Long Island

Knowing a bit of flair and the difference between beer styles would be a huge plus (we have a large variety of Mexican craft beers available)

While this ad is for this particular shift, depending on the needs of the bar and Hostel, you may also be able to take other volunteer shifts to switch things up a bit during your stay with us.

Regeln

We are NOT a drug-friendly Hostel. Getting shitfaced is A-Ok, but on the legal stuff only. Anyone found with drugs will be asked to leave immediately.

Upon arrival, for security reasons, you will be expected to leave a deposit of either a valid passport or a valid ID and 100 USD (or 2000 pesos). Either of these will be returned to you upon your departure. Our team always feels at home here, so it’s important to everyone that we maintain a safe working and living environment by knowing exactly who is staying with us at all times and discouraging the possibility of anyone making a quick exit with something that isn’t theirs.
