We had a great time! Alvor is a cute town with atmosphere. The work was cleaning of guest house rooms and common areas. Work hours were always respected and Cristina was flexible and accomodating with start times and which day we got off. The best part was spending time with the other volunteers.

Me gusto mucho este voluntariado :) Alvor es bonito y lo suficiente cerca de Portimão y Lagos. Puede ser la época en la que estuve pero solo trabajé las 5 horas completas 2 días, los demás días terminábamos cuando ya estaba todo hecho - mucho tiempo libre para salir y ver Algarve. Gracias!

The experience was good. The work varied between gardening and working in the guesthouse. However, some tasks seemed unnecessary and it felt at times as though the host may try to fill your obligated 5 hours per day even if there wasn't an awful lot to do. I would also say that the experience was made by being with other volunteers more than the actual work itself. I was also only told what time I would be starting the night before and I was rarely told what I would be doing. This made it hard to prepare for the days work. I did enjoy the experience but communication could be improved.

O hostel 'a guest house' fica muito bem localizado no centro a guest house e é de fácil acesso as praias, lojas e restaurantes! A Cristina (dona do Hostel) é uma pessoa bem enérgica, e pode acabar assustando algumas pessoas no primeiro momento hehehe, mas foi sempre atenciosa e nos mostrou o que precisávamos fazer ao longo dos dias de trabalho! A maioria dos serviços envolviam tarefas de organização, limpeza dos cômodos dos Hostels e preparo do café da manhã. Não existe uma lista de tarefas a serem cumpridas, normalmente as tarefas são passadas no início do dia pela anfitriã.

Alvor es un lugar maravilloso, tiene un encanto increíble, la playa es hermosa, respetan tus horas de trabajo, y tienes toda la tarde libre, para conocer y disfrutar, las tareas son prácticamente limpiar. La casa de voluntarios donde yo me quedé era un poco lejos de la playa, tenía que hacer una caminata un poco larga pero valía la pena al llegar a la playa, hay muchos lugares que ver en Alvor y en pueblos cercanos, el Algarve es hermoso !! Muchas gracias Christina por la oportunidad!

A experiência em Alvor com certeza foi memorável. Apesar da beleza inegável de toda a região do Algarve, Alvor ganhou um lugar especial no meu coração sendo esse pequeno vilarejo de pescadores, super charmoso e cheio de surpresas. Para quem está viajando sozinho, apesar de ele ser bem pequeno, você vai se surpreender ao ver que sempre há coisas boas pra fazer. Além disso, apesar de no começo ter sido um pouco difícil porque as tarefas consistem basicamente em faxina, eu não posso deixar de falar da Cristina e do Fabio que me acolheram tão bem e contagiavam a casa com a sua energia positiva.

We had a really great time in Alvor☀️ We stayed in the guest house in a room together with Fabio, which was comfortable:) It was a bit challenging since there was no kitchen (only a microwave), but it was okay for our short stay. The beach is really close and the town is lovely! We felt like sometimes the task could have been explained a little bit better but over time you get the hang of it. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend volunteering here:)

This place is great! I enjoyed my time here and had a very relaxing stay. The people here are lovely and makes you feel very welcome. I found the work easy and the working hours were great I went in low season so there wasn't many guests or voulenteres, because of that I also ended up talking with Cristina about leaving a little early. She was very understanding and we agreed upon a departure date, so I ended up leaving after a week instead of two I would recommend going in low season for a more relaxing time, but i could imagine there would be more to do in high season Thanks for having me<3

Alvor is a little paradise on earth. Cristina and Joaquim are welcoming and nice people. The accommodations were more than enough and we had access to everything listed on the app. Overall the volunteers are amazing people and we're glad to have made really good friends during our stay. Working hours are always respected and the work is not too hard but physical. You must have in mind to be flexible because you usually don't know what work you'll be doing until the day of. Cristina is such a good host and we will have great memories of Alvor and how welcoming her and her family were to us.

I had a great experience volunteering in Alvor for two weeks! I stayed there during the low season and the work was always manageable and I never worked over 5 hours a day. You never know what you're going to do before going to work so be ready to be flexible! The work I did was mostly cleaning, taking care of the garden and farm work. Cristina was really kind and always in a good mood :) I'm grateful that I got to visit Algarve and to have met some really special people!
