We are a small Belgian & Malagasy (from Madagascar) family living on a small island (Itamaraca) off the coast of Pernambuco in North East Brazil (an hour drive from Recife), and we are running apartment rentals in a luxurious condo directly on the beach.
We are looking for volunteers to help us run our business (mostly cleaning, general maintenance).

Privatzimmer: Du bekommst ein Bett in einem privaten Zimmer. Mit anderen Worten, ein Zimmer nur für dich.

Gemeinschaftszimmer: Du bekommst ein Bett in einem Gemeinschaftszimmer, was bedeutet, dass du dir den Raum mit anderen Reisenden teilst.

Kostenlose Wäsche: Du kannst unseren Waschraum frei nutzen.

Nutze unsere ausgestattete Küche: Nutze gerne unsere Küche und bereite dein eigenes leckeres Essen zu.

Programmdetails

Our job is to rent apartments for short and mid-term stays on a small and quiet island.

As there is no restaurant here, we don't offer meals, but we offer access to the kitchen and some basic ingredients (flour, olive oil, spices, coffee), and I bake sourdough bread 2 to 3 times a week, which you are welcome to have to complement your breakfast.

Volunteers usually stay in my house, in a charming old brasilian house in front of the Manga Verde Residence, a street away from the beach. There is a big garden, kitchen, and dining room. I have 3 dogs. It is an old and simple house but it has a very nice soul. Private rooms and bathrooms. The bathroom is shared but the
There is a mosquito net on each bed. Volunteers also have access to the pool in the condo, provided that they use it reasonably (no music, and loud / splash games in the pool and common areas) and give priority to our guests.

Aktivitäten & Schichten

The volunteering work is about cleaning the apartments (we have a high cleaning standard for our guests so we do require a lot of attention to detail and professionalism), helping around the house and doing some maintenance work in the apartments.
We give preferences to duo travelers.

Work assignments for workawayers depend on the nb of volunteers we have and the bookings we receive. We send a draft of the work planning on a weekly basis.

Work is 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Shifts are usually 8h30 to 13h30. But during high season (Christmas to Carnaval, you might be asked for some shifts starting at 11 am).

Regeln

Volunteers need to keep all common areas and their rooms clean at all times.

Volunteers need to clean their room and bathroom before leaving, for the next person coming.

It is expected to keep the kitchen clean after every use.

Work is 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. The 2 free days depend on the booking schedule.

It is important that volunteers respect the work timing. If you finish tasks earlier, you may be asked to do maintenance/cleaning work around the house/garden.
