The month I spent at UrbanPop Hostel was very special for me. The work was not very difficult, cleaning 6 days out of 7 and then 3 days we also had the reception shift. Salvo and Reza were very nice, understanding and flexible with the schedule. I got to travel around Sicily, I met interesting people at the hostel and I feel like I've really grown as a person during my stay here. I am really grateful for this experience!

I had an amazing experience :) salvo and reza were very welcoming and helpful from start to finish and the hostel has a friendly atmosphere. it's possible to travel around sicily from catania and explore more places. the hours are as agreed and the work is not difficult, only basic cleaning and reception. i had so much fun in staying here for over a month and it was very sad for me having to leave. i'm really grateful and i highly recommend it <3

My experience at the hostel was incredible, I met people and visited incredible places, I was really happy in the weeks I spent there, the work is very well divided and organized! it was a pleasure to meet Salvo and Reza! I left wanting to stay longer and with the desire to return one day :)

I really enjoyed my time at UrbanPop and I'd definitely recommend it! To be honest the city of Catania isn't that satisfying, and there's not that much to do, but besides this fact the hostel is great! Very well-organised & great for meeting new people! I want to thank Salvo & Reza, who do their best to make the place feel like home! I had a great time with Reza, even when we forgot playing Billiards together. :( I totally recommend UrbanPop & had a great time there!

Salvo, the owner, is just great. He will make you discover the local culture, make you feel at home and even make you discover Etna ! All in all, this hostel is ver just wonderful, everyone knows each other, clients or volunteers ! I recommend it to anyone who wants to meet people from all around the world while living abroad !

I loved it! From the day I arrived, they were so friendly and welcoming. The most thing I enjoyed was meeting and exchanging experiences with new people in the hostel. I would love to do it again someday :)

I volunteered for about one month and had a great time. Salvo and Reza are very caring and helpful and I felt comfortable at the hostel. I met people from all over the world, tried local food and was able to travel a bit! The tasks are not too hard, you get easily used to it but I would have wished it was one more day off in the week. Still I can really recommend this experience!

I had a really good time at the hostel. The hours were as discussed and the tasks were easy. Personally was Catania not the best city for me because there was not a lot going on but i met the most kindest people in the Hostel which made my first volunteering experience amazing!! I totally recommend it!! Thank you for everything :)

I was able to improve my Italian skills and for that I consider my time here well worth it. The host himself was welcoming but there were a few details off regarding the team dynamic that weren't properly addressed and that made my stay difficult this time around. I would consider that communication needs to be worked on, there were plenty of situations when issues with other volunteers could have been addressed soon but instead situations escalated bc of this lack of responsibility from leadership. Apart from that the volunteer experience was fun and the tasks and hours were as agreed.

The hostel located in a busy city of Catania, is a place where travellers find themselves like at home. The vibe, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the place and its people make the hostel one of the best ones I've been too. Work is simple and not overwhelming. Everyone knows what their responsibilities are and schedules are flexible. Perfect for the ones who want to explore the island more. I recommend this place cause it really gives an experience of being part of an intercultural family, which hangs out together and eats delicious Italian food.

Alicja stayed with us for one month and she brought all the joy to the hostel with her energy and smile. She was a professional about her tasks, easy going in her interactions with the guests and other volunteers, chatty as someone knows what she is talking about, and a responsible person. I hoped a volunteer like her has stayed more so it was hard to say goodbye but the door of urbanpop is always open for her.
