It was a wonderful experience! I had the opportunity to try new things such us chopping wood and using a chainsaw. The tasks were many: gardening, cooking and cleaning are just few of them. I enjoyed bike rides, swimming at the lake, exploring the forest and spending time with the amazing volunteers I met.
Working hours are flexible, rooms are comfortable. Sauna party was great, too.
Birgit and Robin are a lovely couple and I will always cherish all the conversations we had. There's a lot to learn from them!
In my opinion, self motivation and hard work are the key at Pillapalu Forest Retreat.

:) Thx...hard work and self motivation are keys to life, not just Pillapalu :)

I had an amazing experience at pillapalu forest retreat. It was a perfect opportunity to escape hectic life with a slower pace of living whilst being surrounded by nature.
The hosts were great, Birgit and Robin are very welcoming.
The food was incredible, you will never go hungry here.
If you are interested in cooking you will have the opportunity to get involved.
The hosts also took us to the lakes for a swim twice during the week I was there.
My key task was painting. We had entire creative freedom which I loved. I was proud to be involved in the fairy door project! Thanks so much :)

Thx Michaela, the fairies say thankyou too :)

This was such an amazing experience! As an artist you have a lot of freedom, you can choose what you want to paint and how, as long as it's related to nature. 🎨 It is an awesome place to meet new people, make some art and restore your peace of mind, surrounded by nature! Working hours are not strict, sometimes you have more or less free time depends on the day, but you can always discuss it with hosts. I would recommend this place to everyone who's especially looking for connection with nature and meeting new people, Robin and Brigit are very friendly and welcoming. 😊

Thanks so much Julia, you did a great job :) Yes you are right work hours are not controlled so much. Has its good and bad points I guess :)

This was truly the best experience of my life, especially because of all the amazing people I met during my adventure. It's such a great opportunity for artists to experiment with creative projects of all kinds. I had complete freedom to make an art installation between the trees. Being in the middle of a forest will definitely inspire you and you can detach from your daily life. Nobody's counting the hours of work which could be good or bad but I had the best time! Goodbye Pillapalu, and all the friends I made, I'll always carry you in my heart :)

Gald you enjoyed yourslf. We have to specify a amout of working hours /days off true but reality is that we leave it volunteers to set their own schedules. we don't control the time. some work less, some work more. I guess it depends how much they enjoy it. we just hope people give the amount of work they think is fair swap.

Had a great experience at Pillapalu. The host and his family are super nice people. I was surprised about how many other volunteers there were, which only made the experience even more interesting. It was also good to work together with several other artists, other wise I probably would have felted lonely while working. At meal times the hole family and volunteers got together. There was plenty of food for everyone and thanks to the host and volunteers cooking skills, each meal time was served a different dich and delicious one. The house, sauna and nature are very beautiful also.
