The experience

A not-for-profit conservation project in the depths of the jungle where we buffer two globally important biodiversity hotspots! Your support moves the organization forward with its conservation, sustainability, educational, and community development projects. Help our team with housekeeping and maintenance of the campus' many needs and get involved in preparing for our guest arrivals, while assuring a comfortable and unique experience for all :)


What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 10 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Donation to project

Description: $10 per day required. Transport is free when we can overlap with our weekly logistics with your arrival or departure. We try to do this as much as possible when we can, but no promises. If your arrival or departure time is flexible, then it almost always works out to overlap with free transport to civilization. Check the FAQ on our website for transport options.


What you get

1 day off per week

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Spanish

Between 18 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

The activities you will do with us may include, but are not limited to:

Maintenance of the campus' environment and facilities: gardening and landscaping, site organization and cleaning, meal preparation and cleanup, construction. Use natural resources like bamboo, river rock, palm leaves in the construction and maintenance.

Support our agroforestry site: permaculture, bamboo grove, cacao, coffee, animals.

Support researchers with tasks: carry supplies, set up equipment, etc.

Support for educational trips: help receive groups, preparing for workshops.

Support for nature retreats: help receive groups, preparing activities, guest services and activities.

Assist during educational workshops in rural schools in local communities. (rare)

Patrol and manage the jungle trails with our certified guides. (for those who stay for months and can handle the rugged terrain.)

Mon-Friday (hours may shift depending on number of volunteers on site and programs going on)
7-7.15am - campus community chores
7.30-8am - breakfast
8-12pm - support with daily tasks and activities (see program description)
12-1pm - lunch
1-3pm - support with daily tasks
5.30-6.30 - help prepare dinner (rotation with other volunteers)
6.30-7.30 - dinner
7.30-8 - help cleanup dinner (rotation with volunteers)

Saturday (hrs may shift depending on # of volunteers on site and programs going on)
7-7.15am - chores
7.30-8am - breakfast
8-12pm - support with daily tasks & activities (see program description)
12-1pm - lunch
1-1.15pm - chores
6.30-7.30 - dinner
7.30-8 - help cleanup dinner (rotation with volunteers)

Rules

Multiple spots available-- couples welcome!

Your stay beyond 3 weeks is based on a cooperation assessment on your first 3 weeks.

Pre-arrival liability and dietary forms needed to be provided prior to your arrival.
