FX Hostel & Guest House

We are a family guesthouse, located in the heart of Madeira Island, a paradise island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We do everything with dedication and care, always striving for an excellent quality of both the stay and the service. We like having volunteers here to help us with cleaning, housekeeping.

My wife and I take care of the guesthouse and we like to receive people from all over the world to help us with a cleaning , houskeeping, a little with gardening.

Marcelo and his family are very nice , before I went to the volunteering we had a chat , and he explains everything and when I arrived was exactly what he said. it's a family hostel it's more a guest house, I got so well with everyone that I'm staying longer ☺️.

I felt cheated because Marcello did not reimburse me any of my arrivals by taxi cost (stated a pick up from airport), he refused to pick me up when asked after I said I had a lot of luggage. I felt sad and disappointed when Marcello said I was not the right person and I had to leave and disrespected when Marcello walked away before I could answer. It hurt me and I felt lonely when I was told not to speak to the guests at the hostel. I suggest that communication is transparent, clear, and concise upfront so volunteers know what to expect, before signing up to volunteer at FX Hostel.

I never deceived you, I give you the transfer of arrival and departure, but when the person arrives with normal luggage, which was not your case, you arrived with 6 large luggage, 3 large boxes, where it wouldn't fit in my car and besides that you I was staying in another place (north of the island) my transfer is to and from the airport, in this case, as I told you, it was up to you. really when I called you to talk the first time, it was to tell you not to have coffee with the guests, not to enter the guest rooms, in short not to be intimate with the guests, and I never said that I couldn't speak, of course we have to speak and be nice, in addition you came to help me at work and not to spend holidays,, in your free time and your break that was 1x a week (as written on the platform), you could do what you want, and as you continued to do, I did have to, talk to you that I couldn’t stay anymore and all this with a person from the platform knowing the events, in addition to other things that are not worth talking about.
